From Portland airport, estimate 2.5 hour drive time
Take 1-205 south to I-84 west, into Portland
exit onto I-405 north, which accesses you shortly to Hwy 26, west to the coast

Portland to Tillamook
West on Hwy 26, to Hwy 6 (Wilson River Hwy)
Exit left onto Hwy 6 (follow signs for Tillamook)
Continue through mountains on Hwy 6 to Tillamook
Entering Tillamook, turn left onto Hwy 101
Immediately merge right and proceed two blocks to Third St.
Right onto Third St. and follow west, out of town

From the north coast
South on Hwy 101 to Tillamook
Over the bridge and continue into downtown
Right onto Third St. and follow west, out of town

From the south coast
North on Hwy 101 to Tillamook
Pass the Air Museum and continue to downtown
Left onto Second St.
Proceed one block to Hwy 101/Main St.
Cross Hwy 101/Main and continue two block to Stillwell St.
Left onto Stillwell, continue past library, two blocks to Third St.
Right onto Third St., and follow west, out of town

From Tillamook
Third St. becomes Netarts Hwy/131, part of the Three Capes Scenic Loop
(Approximately 9 miles from Tillamook to Oceanside)

Either direction you choose, the loop will get you here,
--for the right-hand bend through Cape Meares:
as you cross the Tillamook River, veer to the right onto Bayocean Rd.
wind around Tillamook Bay, where herons, cormorants, and ducks are in view
at the stopsign, turn left up the hill to Cape Meares State Park and Wildlife Refuge

(You may wish to stop for the spectacular vista from the 1890 Cape Meares
Lighthouse, the opportunity to spot sea birds, peregrine falcons, and migrating whales,
or a walk to the Octopus Tree; a giant Sitka spruce of Native American legends.)


Continue past Cape Meares, then Short Beach, and on to Oceanside
Entering Oceanside, turn right at the stopsign, onto Pacific Ave. (refer below)
--for the left-hand bend through Netarts:
as you cross the Tillamook River, veer to the left on Netarts Hwy/131
wind with the curves to the small town of Netarts, glimpsing views of Netarts Bay

(You may wish to stop at Lexi’s shop, Cool Stuff, for a delightful welcome
to the area and fun second-hand treasures)


continue two miles beyond Netarts to Oceanside, following signs to Clifftop
Entering Oceanside, veer to the left, onto Pacific Ave.

Continue two blocks on Pacific, past Roseanna’s and the post office, to stop sign
Right at stop sign (Espresso Shop ahead, beach access on left) onto Rosenberg Lp.
Road immediately comes to a “T”--turn left onto Maxwell Mountain Road
Up the hill one block, blue and white buildings at the top of the hill…welcome!
